How I spent the last few days of November 2009

Hi guys! I am back!!! I know it’s been a while... Let me blog on what I did for the last few days of November 2009.

FRIDAY (27th November)

I had 2 of my best friends back in town (Yvonne & Wei Wei) though I spent my whole weekend with Yvonne who is also my future maid of honour (Yvonne) back in town for the long weekend. She stayed over at my place and it felt like old times when we’re still in college (of course she was on the floor) LOL! Sorry babes, but I haven’t got a huge room to fit a double bed...

* SPOT THE BROWN THINGY, ME LOVELY DOG, PEPI! - yes she was sleeping with my dog LOL *

Upon arrival, she walked to my car looking like an Indonesian maid *ooops* but as pretty as ever! Haven’t seen her for months now... Ok, weather was extremely HOT HOT HOT! So I brought her home to freshen herself up and off we went for lunch at Dome, Queensbay Mall. I had the mushroom/chicken pie and she ordered the minestrone soup but we each had half half of each food. Both of us we’re going on and on on how to pronounce ‘Minestrone’ (Mini-stro-ni à the Malaysian way) and (Mine-strone à the English way) and started crapping... *as usual*

If you wanna learn how to cook a minestrone soup, visit here.

Then we went to Aldo and got my wedding shoes. It’s 3 or 4 inches high and I am crossing my fingers now that my fiancé is tall enough! LOL! We first saw one which is on the 70% discount rack then it was a NO NO, so I proceeded to the 50% discount rack and was a YES but as I proceeded to the counter to pay for it, I feel in love with another pair which was on the 20% discount rack... WHY OH WHY??? In the end I bought the one which was on the 20% rack and it was 200 more as compared to the 1st pair... LOL! *M LOVING MY WEDDING SHOES* But I am sure by the end of next year, am gonna fall in love with another pair instead... *I am a woman*

* How it looks like is to be kept a secret but here's the box's image.. *

*YES I AM TURNING INTO A SHOPAHOLIC*

And nor forgetting, some pampering sessions at the fish spa!

**HOW COME NO FISHES FOR ME???**

**HOW COME SO MANY FISHES FOR HER???**

In the night, I attended another of my good friend’s (Wei Wei) cousin’s wedding... yea, friend’s cousin’s which I don’t even know. Yvonne was left alone at home with my parents and dogs and brother... wtf... *sorry babes* but she finished watching a movie (sister’s keeper which I am only half way now). At the wedding, we drank and drank like nobody’s business... As you can see from the picture, that weren’t all we had... in total we had 25 bottles? OMG!!! This tells me not to have alcohol on my wedding day, otherwise, all my money will go down the drain - One table, which will be filled with all my close friends, is enough to kill you! Hahahahhaa...

**THAT WASN'T ALL WE HAD - Tiger, you should pay me for promoting you!**

After the wedding dinner, we went to pick Yvonne up and headed to Hard Rock Cafe (new one in Penang). It is now like an over-rated place in Penang! But, I kinda like it though... Had a good time there... Now that I have been there twice, I think I wanna have my wedding after party at Hard Rock Cafe.

**HARD ROCK CAFE, BATU FERRINGHI, PENANG**

Initially, it was supposed to be at Sunset bistro but thinking of the toilet kills me! Well, need to discuss it over with my fiancé cos when writing this blog, he was on skype with me and he said “Penang means beach, ask them to clean the toilet beforehand”.. Hello darling, u think Sunset my grandfather’s bistro??? ARGH!!!! Anyways, it is to be confirmed.

So... That was Friday! And not forgetting the dance we had on the way to the carpark (me n Yvonne doing the ballroom dance) LOL!

SATURDAY (28th November 2009)

Woke up in the afternoon, was supposed to go for a function at my receptionist’s place but too many things to do la... Ok we went for the Indian Fair in town to get my Punjabi suit and bought a few accessories to go with it. Firstly, let me tell you the experience of driving up the carpark of Penang Time square which I will never do it again - driving up the parking lot gave me a hell of a time... I felt like puking – and it felt as if the way to the parking will never end! Round and round and round till I slowed down and Yvonne started laughing at me!

We walked up and down, up and down.. If you were to ask me where is the escalator, where is the parking, I would be able to guide you there although I have only been there once. LOL! After getting my Punjabi suit, went to Little India @ Market St to get it altered and bought a few more accessories. While walking, Yvonne was being stopped by this guy twice trying to sell her some Indian CDs LOL! Ok that was our afternoon...

**MY PUNJABI SUIT for GLAMOROUS Theme**

Wanted to drive to Park Royal (as I have promised Yvonne we shall get there soon so we can do our investment as well - wtf) and the intention was to show her my future wedding venue so she could help me with some ideas... But, time did not permit, so plan changed!

Off we went to Queensbay... Got our eyebrows shaped (complimentary from Yvonne, thanks babes for making me look fabulous LOL) then we went to theFish Spa for the second time.

**SO MANY FISHES THIS TIME** :p

**NO FISHES FOR YVONNE THIS TIME - LOL**

After that, we had to buy some ‘serai’ for my mum (don’t ask me what it’s called in English as we had to ask the sales girl “Ini serai kan kak?” – MALU-NYA! Are we really prepared to be both of our fiancé’s wives? Hahahahhaha

**SERAI (Malay) @ LEMONGRASS in English**

Then we had our poor friend waiting for us girls to be done with our shopping and girls’ day out programme! From half 7 to 8pm to half 8 for dinner LOL! Went for steamboat in town, eat laugh eat laugh... How to digest la? Hahahhaa... Then off we went to the pub to look for my brother and had a wonderful night out till 4am! Yes 4am and we had to wake up at 6am cos Yvonne had to go to the temple!

Sunday (29th November 2009)

Came home at 4am, so it’s practically Sunday! Yvonne started putting together the food stuff she bought for donation at the temple (looking zombified)... We managed to sleep for an hour, woke up feeling like a zombie, drove her to her uncle’s place, bid goodbye (big big hug), drove to McD drive-thru (bought my favourite Sausage McMuffin with egg) and headed back home and hit my sack!

**YUMMY** - Am drooling now...

WOW! WHAT A WEEKEND!!! I AM DEFINITELY MISSING HER ALREADY!!!!

AND I AM CERTIFIED BROKE! WE HIT THE JACKPOT BABES!!!

Hat Yai Road Trip

Hi guys, sorry for not updating my blog recently... I have been really busy with my assignment...

My table looks this way all the time, as in 1 month before submission of every coursework:

I nearly gave up at one point where I told my fiance I do not want to continue with my masters no more. This is because usually, people who do their masters, they do work but they get themselves a part time job.. As for me, I am working full time and I have got no lectures to attend (distance learning). Everything is up to my own self... Whether I wanna discipline myself or not... I envy those who get to go out after work, etc... I do go out after work, but my head will be full of sh*t (FOS). Nevertheless, I told myself one day when I was staring blankly out of my window at 2am, "I have studied this much, I have came this far, I can do it..."

I have came this far, how many subjects have I done in total?:

Ok, lets cut the crap on studying + coursework...

Remember that I mentioned that me and my mates went for a road trip? We went to Hat Yai and we had so much fun there... It's all about alcohol and food LOL! We made a move from Penang at 8pm, was supposed to be at 7pm but Cheryl and Weng Khit were late *it's ok, we forgive them* LOL! We had McD for dinner in the car, to keep our stomachs from not growling...

So we arrived at the border of Thailand at about 10pm Malaysian Time and had our passports stamped, etc... Our so called driver at one part didn't lock the door and all of our valuables were in there *knock his head* but yet, he insisted no one would have stolen the car since all the securities were there *Jee Ann continues nagging*... After the border, I was the so called navigator to the driver... wtf! His GPS was not able to receive any signal if we were to place it near the gear... So I had to hold on to it (as in it was placed on my lap) - a bit higher, better signal wtf! I the navigator told the driver, "just follow whichever car you think you like, I'm sure one of them will be going to our hotel" .... HAHAHAHHA! Nah, we didn't do that..

Drove and drove and we reached the town area... continued driving till we got to the hotel. I checked in at the hotel, then Cheryl and Weng Khit came up after a few minutes... Went to the loo to do whatever we needed to... Then off we were from our executive suite, Room 2099. When we went down to the lobby, the receptionist called me to the counter:

Receptionist: "Madam, how many people staying?"

Jee Ann: "only 2, why?" '

Receptionist: "Madam, it's ok if your other friends are staying as well but let me tell you, when you check out tomorrow, ask them to leave first cos if the room service sees so many of you, they will charge 500 Bhat each!"

Jee Ann: "Ohhh, ok ok.. thank you ah *pai seh/ blushing/ embarrassed/ malu-nya*

So off we went to hail for a "tuk tuk" ... First destination was Chanel Club..

That's me and Cheryl at the entrance:

Group picture taken in the club... Thought the beer was cheap, nonsense:
BUT, the champagne was cheap:
And, that's me practicing for my big night which will be next year:

After we were done with Chanel pub, hailed another "Tuk tuk" and off to Ice Bar:

One section which was really the ice bar, and all of us superheroes refused to put on their jackets (free of charge):

Seems that it's very expensive to drink "Green Label" in Malaysia, but in Thailand:

Which question do we usually ask ourselves in Thailand? Girl or boy???:
So that was our night, all drunk? maybe... LOL... Where was I?.. hmmm:

The funniest part was Cheryl and Khit going back to the hotel with the wrong key card. They took Chiun Shyen's caling card and went to the reception:

Khit: Excuse me, your hotel key is not working. We are at Room 2099!

Receptionist: Sir, this is not our room key!

Wahahahhahaha... Another incident was Cheryl trying to show her Thai language skill till she refuses to pay the "Tuk tuk" driver until she gets the right word! LOL! "ka, kap, ka, kap?"

So we went for food the next day but not this though cos look at them, how pitiful... it's not easy being an animal or a piglet, but it seems they are really tasty:

Piglets can even synchronise:

I feel that this is a really good shot as if it was hung on the bike:

So that was our trip to Hat Yai in less than 24 hours. We then made a move at 3pm from Thailand and reached Penang at 6.30pm (Malaysia time, 5.30pm Thailand Time). Went to a village between Jawi and Bukit Merah (that's North to south, different expressway) for a good good dinner and ended the night at another mate's house for a couple of drinks... That was our road trip (from Penang - Thailand - Penang - Jawi - Lenny's plc - back home!)... Tiring it was but was good!!!! xoxo

Am loving them glasses

I have been sick for the past few days...hence, the no update of my blog! Nothing serious, just bad cough! Cough, cough, cough... remember I mentioned previously that we went on a road trip to Hat Yai? Yes, all 4 of us are coughing, 2 went on full day MC, 1 on half day MC, the driver was the toughest, NO MC but worked throughout the weekend as well...

HAHAHA... No no one is pregnant... wanted to look for a sick leave image n found this instead *eyes rolling*

Anyways, I went shopping for a pair of new glasses and contact lenses over the weekend. Bought myself 6 boxes of daily disposable contacts @ 1-Day-Acuvue-Moist by Johnson & Johnson. I do not like washing them contact lenses and storing them (call me lazy) and thus, I get disposable ones! Handy esp when you're away travelling... Moist version is supposed to be more moisture where it can last for longer hours as compared to the normal ones.

Price differs in different shops, felt cheated by England optical where there was no promotions going on at all... Anyways, the price differed by RM10 but 6 boxes would come up to RM60. So even if it's RM10, it does matter! call me cheapo or whatever, but that's how I became rich today... Ok not rich but I am able to save! wtf

I have been wanting a pair of new glasses ever since I was in the UK. I have been scouting around for 3-4 days and finally went to this shop at Prangin Mall and found the one I like. I have been contemplating between Gucci or Dior, Gucci or Dior... and finally came up with a decision when I saw this one:

Where I work, producers do produce conferences on packaging. I have never thought of it as important but now, yes packaging is one of the important factors in attracting customers. People like me, when I cannot decide on which item to get, I will then shift my attention to the packaging. For example, I was not able in making up my mind on which spectacles I should get - Gucci or Dior (both are lush)... So I asked to see the casing of the spectacles and fell in love with the Gucci, and that gave me more reasons to love this than that. Not that the Dior was ugly, but the casing is white in colour which is not convenient at all...

Now, after purchasing this glasses, it makes me an owner of Gucci sunglasses and Gucci spectacles... Am loving them! I am not a brand conscious person but sometimes, I like to spoil myself... I wanna feel how it feels like being able to afford so many branded stuffs... But come to think of it... am not gonna waste all those money unless I really need them.

And now the finale, how do I look like in ma new glasses???

Mum says: "Nerdy like your grandpa's time." *grin*

Brother says: "Sides look like a pimp's." *eyes rolling*

Shayan says: "I don't like the sides" *wot can I do???*

Shyen says: "It's nice but I prefer the sides to be silver" *ISH*

Me says: M LOVING IT!!! <3

P.S: Even if you're planning a wedding, it doesn't mean you can't spend a lil on yourself. Spoil yourself at times to get away the stress! xoxo

Jee Ann & Shayan's Engagement (28/06/2008)

Ok back to the (+) & (-) of a cross cultural wedding. I have been a lil caught up with my life... LOL!

I STILL PREFER TO HAVE AN ENGAGEMENT PARTY & A RECEPTION. Since he proposed last year, I wanted to have an engagement party. Engagement parties are not well known in Malaysia but growing up watching a lot of English and American movies, I have always wanted to have one. It would be like a dream come true. What’s an engagement party? Engagement parties allow you to announce your engagement to your nearest and dearest friends and family in a fun way. However, even without an engagement party, I am sure you would have posted it up on facebook or twitter or wherever (via the cyber world!) announcing it to the whole wide world. In short, I just wanted the party due to the atmosphere sake. I didn’t receive a huge diamond ring, all I got was a ring with a small sapphire stone on it, but I am well proud of it..

and that we have been apart for a year before the engagement, I wanted to celebrate it cos we made it, the LDR (LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIP)! It feels like when you have won the Gold medal at the Olympics after running or swimming for a year. LOL!

or maybe like these 2 pigs competing with each other... (i cannot imagine a pig swimming):

He finally agreed to have what his fiancee had always wanted, which is an engagement party. BUT he wanted to have a BBQ party and I thought, heck, why a BBQ party on a special day like that? I want to look pretty, I want to have champagnes, I want to have the whole romantic atmosphere. But if I wanted all that, I should have just gotten married toPARIS (the country not HILTON) than him. So, in the end, I told him I wouldn’t have minded if it was just a BBQ party cos it sounded good to me as it would have reminded me of the days we used to have BBQ parties in the UK.

Backyard BBQ in Newcastle at a friend's place:

Porch BBQ in Kuala Lumpur:

Anyways....

In the end, my parents threw us an engagement party and it was lush! We had catering over to my place by the pool side. I kinda sorted everything out by myself and of course, Mum paid for it. Ours was a simple one with no relatives, cos if we were to invite the close ones, if the not-so-close ones find out, it wouldn’t be nice at all. To those who are aware of this, chinese people like to have all generations to be there, but honestly, I ain’t close with all of them, so should I have them over as well? Ooops!! His parents and sibblings were not around as well cos they live in Spain and I would prefer them to spend the air tickets and fly here on our big day then just this atmosphere kinda lovey dovey party! Don’t get me wrong again, I enjoyed the party very much cos you get all the attention… Kinda makes me feel like I am calling myself an “attention seeker” now, but anyways, I ain’t one!

Eden Catering at my apartment's pool side:

So we invited my colleagues, my close friends (from high school and uni), my brother’s friends and neighbours. We had a total of 38 people which was 4 round tables.

We are now engaged for more than a year! So as what I have mentioned earlier, it doesn’t matter when you want to have it, whenever you feel the time is right, that is when you should have it!

NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLE!

It was a very memorable & happy day... I got a lot of gifts as well like Danai Spa (massage) vouchers, cupcakes, champagne, Rasa Sayang Hotel voucher (everything was so expensive in that hotel (can't even afford the room) so we ended up utilizing the voucher for a romantic dinner for 2), and many other gifts... <3

What have I done (Mon - Thurs)?

MONDAY

Was a good day at work but when I came home, it wasn't a pleasant day at all... *sigh* I would rather keep it to myself on what the matter is which upsets me so badly. Thank God I have got supportive parents, brother, dogs and FRIENDS! We went out for coffee at Coffee Bean, Gurney Plaza (all the way to town) and headed to Segafredo to have a glass of Beer.. So that was how I spent my gloomy Monday!

P.S: Would love to name my next dog if it's a bitch, Simone.

TUESDAY

Went to Coffee Bean @ Queensbay for coffee again!

WEDNESDAY

Went for movie, Surrogates, as it is movie day on every Wednesday. It was so cheap to get tickets for its premier class (RM11 only per person, RM6 for normal screens). Was a good movie.. If only we have got surrogates here in Malaysia. I wouldn't need to work, all I need to do if I am tired is to use my surrogate. And I could just punch anyone I hate in their face without hurting them if the piss me off. LOL! So that was Wednesday!

P.S: It's totally absurd for me and my friends to be meeting up everyday cos we are employees to our different employers (as for myself, working + studying) and thus, we only meet on weekends.

THURSDAY
I went for a follow up check up with my dermatologist as I am having skin + scalp problems. Had to do blood test (hate it cos they had to do it twice as the first time failed) + urine test (hate it cos the toilet was disgusting enough) this time as they would like to confirm it isn't "connective tissue disease". Doctor said it's nothing dangerous but why is the patch on my scalp not being able to produce healthy hair? My am I always scratching myself all over as if i have got some kind of disease? or makes me look like a monkey - wtf!

Why is the whole dermatologist department full of old people?

Me being bored at the hospital waiting for my turn:

Went back to work in the afternoon. Oh yea, me and my mates met up for lunch before sending me back to the office - exactly, the meeting up sessions are not over! So I text my mate for a drink and he mentioned "beer" and I was like lets go to SOHO for Happy Hour! Stayed at Soho till like 11pm.

It was a really exciting night cos we were all planning for a road trip for tomorrow! We wanted to go up the gambling cruise but our intention was to drink). In the end we realised it wasn't gonna be fun as it's not those "Superstar Virgo" kind of cruise but more to a cheap cruise unless we are there to gamble.

This is 'superstar virgo' cruise.. I wouldn't mind going on board on such a beautiful ship!
